Culinary Arts
In this college prep weighted course, the principles of food science and chemistry are the basis for all food preparation. Curriculum involves an in depth study of nutrition along with consumerism, kitchen lab management, baking techniques, menu planning, meal preparation, and foods lab evaluation techniques.
All students will pay a $20.00 fee to supplement the cost of supplies.

Gourmet Foods
Round out your culinary background with an exciting course in the world of foods! Explore foods in greater depth, and expand your knowledge through gourmet cooking, microwave cooking, nutritional meal planning, regional and foreign foods, and sustainable living practices.

Survival Skills
Survival Skills is a course designed to equip the student with skills for life, with much focus on personal finance, while addressing State Standards for Family and Consumer Sciences. The goal is to empower individuals to manage the challenges of living and working in a diverse, global society. Resource management, ethical decision making, and practical problem solving embody this course through topics which include smart shopping, balancing a checkbook, saving and investing, using credit, buying a car, renting and furnishing an apartment, communication and relationships, nutrition, food preparation, and meal planning.
